Argyle 2005 Spirit House Pinot Noir

This top of the line offering from Argyle is a massive wine, that out of the bottle may seem more like a Syrah than a Pinot Noir. Dark, foreboding fruit, cedar, smoke, and earth smack you as you lift the glass. In the mouth, Spirit House is full of both red and dark fruit with some acid and tannin. I just find this wine too much to drink with a meal, and unfortunately, the wine was tasted as part of a food and wine paring party, which is not its strong suit. ($70) |
