Louis Jadot 2004 Domain du Duc de Magenta 1er Cru Chassagne-Montrachet “Morgeot” Monopole Clos de La Chapelli

Winner of this year’s longest name for a red wine, this Burgundy was drinking well when we tried it with pommes frites at lunch and again at a wine paring dinner that night. Out of the bottle the wine displayed red fruit, damp leaves, and earth. The wine has an excellent mouth feel with adequate tannin and plenty of acid. 2004 was not a great vintage, but this ’04 from Jadot is working just fine. ($45)
