Body

Term used to describe the way a wine “feels” or its “weight” in your mouth. The alcohol level, amount of fruit extraction, and the level of tannin all influence the body of a wine. In general, the body of a wine is described as light, medium, or full. A full bodied wine is rich and heavy in the mouth with a long finish. Wines that feel a little watery and airy on the tongue are described as having light body, and wines in between the two extremes are described as having medium body.
