Closed

A wine tasting term that refers to the nose or mouth of a wine that is not showing-up to its potential. Closed wines may be young wines that require aging, or they can be age worthy wines that are in a “closed” period of their aging process. Chateauneuf de Pape wines can exhibit this aging behavior.
