Fat

A wine tasting slang term that refers to a wine that has a low acid concentration in combination with lots of fruit.

The practice of blending different grape varietals as they are picked and then processing them together into a single wine.

Filtering

A winemaking process in which the wine is passed through a filter to remove solid material. Modern filters can be used to remove all microorganisms making a sterile wine.

Fining

The winemaking practice of adding flocculants, such egg whites or bentonite, to wine to remove suspended solids such as proteins. Fining can be used to remove odors or color from white wine.

Finish

The flavor, body, and textural impression that a wine leaves after it is swallowed. The length of time (short, medium, or long) that a finish lasts is considered an indication of the quality of the wine.

Flabby
